It’s been a long and anxious wait for the Grade 11 students of Heritage International School to receive their Cambridge International A Level and AS results. For a school who has achieved so many ‘1sts” in education in Moldova, these are the first Cambridge A Level results for the school and the country and will enable Heritage students to access global universities around the World, as well as in Moldova.
Today, the long wait was over as Cambridge released their A Level results around the World to schools and 220,000 students. Cambridge is by far, the most popular international curriculum globally. Heritage is the only international school in Moldova that is Cambridge accredited, with over 25 nationalities composing its student body.
The results for Heritage are extremely impressive, especially considering this is the cohort of students who were the very first to take Cambridge iGCSEs last year, have experienced over 2 years of Covid disruption and now the war in Ukraine since February and the knock on effects to Moldova.
The school has achieved a remarkable nearly 40% of all grades, at the top A-B. Nearly 60% of grades are A-C. The overall pass rate for AS Level A-E grades was 99%. These international exams are some of the toughest to study and this is measured globally against the best students and schools around the World. There are a number of outstanding individual successes for students including a number of students with all grade As. Subject success includes Chemistry and Biology all at Grade A, Maths & History had 66% of Grade As. New subjects like Law, Media Studies and Sociology, also did extremely well.
Most students will now go on to complete Grade 12 and the full A Levels as they apply to universities around the world and here in Moldova. Some are already accepting places at global universities for study this autumn.
This is a remarkable achievement for the vision of the two school Founders, Mrs. Natalia Cecetova and Mr. Sinan Bora. This September, the new Lyceum construction gets underway at Heritage to provide a 21st World Class state of the art campus for A Level students. The school is also celebrating its 5th year anniversary as it continues “Going Strong; Going Forward; Going Global” as an innovative international school here in Moldova.
“Well done to the whole Cambridge Team. An extraordinary year and these students have already had 2 years of Covid, online learning and disruption. I am really proud of the success here. Today, we are proud and celebrating remarkable young people and their success. Mrs Rose Moran, outgoing head of Lyceum, should be proud of her leadership here. Think of the stories behind some of these students. We are going to celebrate with a fitting ceremony in the autumn. The new Lyceum construction gets underway next week and this begins the next development of our international school. A small moment of education history though as these are the 1st ever Cambridge A Level results for the whole of Moldova. But definitely not the last. Thank you for all the hard work of the amazing team of Cambridge teachers, the leadership of Mrs. Inga Chiosa, academic director and especially the leadership of Mr. Anjum Shabbir, Cambridge Coordinator at Heritage. Our students have worked hard for these grades with the support of the brilliant families, who will be rightly proud today. We are continuing to build a remarkable school here.” Rob Ford, Director

“I am extremely proud of my former students for their AS Level results this year. They have demonstrated what hard work and consistent effort can achieve in the face of adverse circumstances.
