Heritage, recognised once again as a National Online Safety Certified School

11 June 2024

Heritage International School has successfully completed a comprehensive online safety training programme demonstrating its commitment to keeping children and young people safe online. Therefore, Heritage has received a National Online Safety Certified School Accreditation for its whole school community approach to protecting children in the online world.

The certification is awarded by The National College in the UK – a platform for high-quality professional development in education, providing all the necessary tools in one place.

James Southworth, co-founder of National Online Safety: “Congratulations to everyone at Heritage International School on becoming a National Online Safety Certified School. By completing our training programme, the school has shown its strong commitment to implementing an effective whole school approach to online safety. It can be increasingly difficult for schools and parents to stay ahead of online threats and ensure both children and staff are safeguarded from potentially harmful and inappropriate online material. We arm schools with the knowledge they need to understand online dangers and react in the best way possible to any problems.”

Tatiana Popa, Deputy Academic Director & Online Safety Lead at Heritage: “We are very glad to reach this milestone for our school once again, as we have taken a whole school approach to online safety, training our staff, students and parents how to be safe online. Our staff get annual certificates in online safety for staff in international schools, they take courses on online reputation for staff, access classroom resources and materials, we share guides with the school parents in our newsletters and our parents have access to online safety courses for parents and tutors as well. We are part of Europe’s Safer Internet Day every year, and online safety is an integral part of the learning process at our school in Moldova. This certification is our common effort and success in keeping children safe online, and this makes us all extremely proud! Well done, Heritage!”
