Olga Isac – the teacher who turns every German lesson at Heritage into an interactive cultural experience

21 May 2024

She discovered German culture right in Germany, then has lived for several years in Austria, and later taught English and German in Barcelona, Spain, becoming a true global citizen over the years. This is Olga Isac, teacher at Heritage International School, who offers students the best learning experience of the German language and culture.

No German language lesson with Olga Isac is boring. On the contrary, students are involved in a lot of dynamic and interactive activities that help them better understand the specifics of this culture. Thanks to the teaching methods that Olga Isac has integrated into the lesson curriculum, combining the learning of the German language with relevant cultural and social aspects, her students not only learn grammar and vocabulary, but are also introduced to the traditions, customs and history of the German-speaking countries.

Students like it when we study about life in Germany, recently they have learned about the traditions and customs of this country. They prepare articles, we do podcasts, we read a lot, we watch reports from Deutsche Welle, they like to read original literature, we analyze, we can also stage skits based on the books.

Everyone said that German was very difficult, but I like challenge

For more than 5 years, the outstanding performance of Heritage students in examinations has been proving the effectiveness of Mrs. Isac's teaching methods. With a strong focus on academic excellence and multicultural enrichment, the teacher aims to inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential.

At university everyone said that German was a very difficult language. I like challenges, I accepted this challenge and from the first year I did very well. Professionally, I want my students to achieve the best possible results in the exams, this is the goal of my work, but also to enjoy this course, which is not boring at all, it is very interesting, it enriches you not only linguistically and culturally, but emotionally as well. I hope it will remain in their hearts for many years to come, as well as the beautiful memories related to this course.

As a teacher in Cambridge International A Level programme at Heritage, Olga Isac associates the lessons with university ones – they are complex, require systematic preparation and a lot of organization on the students’ part. Their work also has exceptional results, the A Level programme offering a multitude of opportunities for graduates.

The A Level programme gives them a very good foundation for university, especially for those who want to study in German-speaking countries. The course also prepares them very well from a socio-cultural point of view, because not only grammar is learned, but also the culture of civilization, everything related to society, traditions, level of education, financial system, history – it is a very complex course, they learn German at a very in-depth level.

Heritage International School, the only school in Moldova that has integrated the Cambridge International AS & A Level programme, ensures high academic standards and offers students excellent opportunities for education and career. Heritage teachers make a remarkable contribution to student achievement, especially due to the flexibility they have in building their own courses and integrating up-to-date and engaging educational methods.

I really appreciate at Heritage the fact that I have the freedom to use my methods, to formulate this course as I see it and make it as understandable as possible to the students, but also that I have the freedom to organize the material as I consider necessary for teaching: as accessible, as convenient, and as good as possible for the students, says Olga Isac.
