Qualifications at Heritage
Heritage is the only school in Moldova officially authorized by Cambridge Assessment International Education as a Cambridge School (MD004). This status gives learners the chance to obtain internationally recognized Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International AS & A Level qualifications – the global standard for the world’s best universities and global employers. Heritage students have excellent opportunities for their further education and career, our curriculum helping them to develop all the necessary skills in this regard.
IGCSE
The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is awarded at the end of the Upper Secondary stage, during which students study a minimum of 5 subjects (usually 8-11 subjects), take exams in each subject and obtain the IGCSE certificate. Cambridge IGCSE is the most popular international qualification in education for the gymnasium cycle and learners aged 14-16.
After IGCSE, students will continue their studies in the Heritage Lyceum with the Cambridge International AS & A Level program.
AS & A Level
The Cambridge International AS & A Level qualifications give students the great opportunity of continuing their education in 1400 top-ranking institutions across 195 countries. This program is meant for the 11th and 12th graders, aged 16-19. In order to gain Cambridge International AS & A Level qualifications, learners will study 3-4 subjects, selected according to their preferences and abilities (from a range of 55 subjects), then they will choose from the following assessment options:
1. Take the Cambridge International AS Level only, usually for one of the subjects. The syllabus content is half a Cambridge International A Level.
2. Take a ‘staged’ assessment route – take the Cambridge International AS Level in one examination series and complete the final Cambridge International A Level at a subsequent series.
