Colin Bell, CEO of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), will visit Heritage International School for between 25-26 April, 2024. Coming to Moldova for the first time, his agenda will be full of meetings, both with students and teachers, and with officials of the Ministry of Education and the UK Embassy to the Republic of Moldova.
Taking into account the fact that Heritage is the first and only educational institution in our country accredited by the prestigious organization, the visit of the guest of honour will reconfirm our compliance with the standards set for an international school. Heritage has been a member of COBIS since 2021 following a rigorous inspection by the COBIS Council, which granted approval based on five key standards that were successfully met: safeguarding and safer recruitment, students’ welfare, school’s facilities, governance, the ethos and values of the education institution.
Rob Ford, CEO & Director of Heritage International School: “This week, we are deeply honoured to have Mr. Colin Bell, CEO of COBIS, arrive in Moldova and visit Heritage. Mr. Bell and COBIS have been brilliant in their support of Heritage as an international school. He will be meeting with the Minister of Education and colleagues from the Ministry of Education and Research, to discuss further ways we can support the national education community and the modernisation agenda for education in Moldova.”
Thus, on the first day of the visit, the itinerary will start with the school tour with the leadership team, then continue with a series of discussions with Heritage students and artistic performances. Later, Mr. Bell will meet with the Deputy Head of Mission, Edward Inglett, at the UK Embassy.
Afterwards, the Heritage team and Colin Bell will meet with officials and the Minister of Education and Research, Dan Perciun, to share educational experiences, exchange ideas and create new opportunities for collaboration through various projects or partnerships.
On the second day of the visit, our guest will participate in the Moldova Education Forum, together with Rob Ford, Heritage CEO & Director, and Tatiana Popa, Deputy Academic Director at Heritage, where they will speak about leadership and COBIS credentials.
