Scholars in our country are “challenged” to put their knowledge and skills into practice and to sign up for the “World Scholar's Cup” international competition. The contest hosted for the third time by Heritage International School and aims to bring together hundreds of students, teachers and volunteers from all over the country. The regional stage of the “World Scholar's Cup” will take place on May 20 in Chisinau.
Educational institutions in our country can register one or more teams made up of 3 students each, in three age categories: 8–10 years, 10–13 years, 14+ years. Students who are passionate about knowledge, who are good at debates, can work in a team, have a good level of English, have excellent communication skills and critical thinking, are agile and full of creativity are expected to sign up.
Inga Chiosa, Academic Director at Heritage International School: “The competitions organized in previous years have shown us how open and receptive students are to learning new things, to discovering and contributing to their personal development and the communities they belong to. This year's edition will be an extraordinary experience as well, which is why we encourage children and teenagers to register for the competition and harmoniously combine competitive spirit with fun. For more than five years, by developing and stimulating critical thinking, Heritage has been encouraging students to be part of the international academic circuit and a global community.”
The competition will include four challenges: team debate, team writing, general knowledge test and the main event – “Scholar's Bowl”. The competition will be held in English, and the topic of this year's edition is “Reconstructing the Past”.
The winners of the regional event held in Chisinau will compete with representatives of other countries in the “World Scholar's Cup” Global Round, which will take place between July 26-30 in London, UK.
Teams of 3 students can sign up until May 10, 2023, by downloading the form from this link and sending it completed (in .docx format) to the contact@scholarscup.org email address.
The “World Scholar's Cup” takes place annually in more than 50 countries (except during the pandemic, when the competition has been suspended). In Moldova the famous competition was also hosted in 2018 and 2019 by Heritage International School, the only Cambridge School in the country, bringing together students and teachers from various schools. The winners of the Chisinau rounds later participated in the Global Rounds, bringing multiple gold and silver medals.
