Heritage International School was rated as a “top-notch school” by Martin Nuttall, the Regional Commercial Head for Europe at Cambridge Assessment International Education, the institution (a department of the University of Cambridge) that offers study programmes and Cambridge International examinations to the world’s best schools. The honourable guest visited Heritage to see how the first and only Cambridge School in Moldova operates.
Mr. Nuttall toured the school with students and team representatives, followed by a question-and-answer session about Cambridge qualifications, exams, and university admissions.
Martin Nuttall, Regional Commercial Head for Europe at Cambridge Assessment International Education: „I have to say in all sincerity that Heritage is without doubt one of the most impressive schools I have visited in the many years I have been responsible for schools in various parts of Europe. The professionalism and commitment of its staff, and the engagement of its learners is palpable and there is no doubt that Heritage is really a top-notch school. You can all be justly proud of what you have all achieved in the last six years and I will be delighted to participate in your Graduation Ceremony next year. It will be a pleasure and an honour to join you.”
His visit to Chisinau included a meeting with the Minister of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, Dan Perciun, during which several topics such as the Cambridge programmes, professional development, mentoring programmes and international education were addressed, as well as the future of Moldova in the European Union. Additionally, ways of collaboration and support in creating excellence in education were identified, through various programs and professional development activities based on the British model, which could significantly contribute to the reform of education in our country.
Rob Ford, Heritage CEO and Director: “The visit of Martin Nuttall was a unique opportunity for a figure in global education who sees the best schools around the world, to come to our country and see how the first Cambridge School in Moldova has established and set up a very successful global curriculum and qualifications, with its first students at university this year after A Levels. Martin was extremely impressed with what he saw, and that’s a real accolade for the hard work of the entire Heritage Community and standing for something different and global in education, and linking that to the national education community was also a really beneficial outcome of the entire visit. We are proud to be the first Cambridge School in Moldova, we are proud of our school offering an international curriculum, we are also proud of the students it’s developing and we’re going into bigger and greater things. It was a very successful visit and I’m proud of the fact that all our staff have seen exactly where Heritage has come in these years. The idea of our school and Heritage International School works.”
On the same day, Edward Inglett, the Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Moldova, welcomed Martin Nuttall and members of the Heritage team for a discussion about education and the importance of international schools in our country, also expressing his appreciation for the ongoing sustainability projects at Heritage.
After his visit to Moldova, filled with a busy schedule of activities and productive meetings, Mr. Martin Nuttall concluded that Heritage operates to very high educational standards, meeting all the criteria to be considered a top school globally, and that the educational system in the Republic of Moldova can only benefit from the existence of such a model of global education.
