“WORLD SCHOLAR’S CUP” 2026 RETURNS TO HERITAGE AND ALL STUDENTS FROM MOLDOVA ARE INVITED!

17 March 2026

The international “World Scholar’s Cup” competition returns for the sixth consecutive year to Heritage International School, where all students from schools across the Republic of Moldova are invited to participate in the Regional Round – Chisinau. The event will take place on March 27–28 and will bring together teams of three members, which can be registered by their school or can register as an independent team.

The “World Scholar’s Cup” is held in English, and participating teams will test their skills in all four rounds, in a format that combines academic competition with collaboration and the exchange of ideas:

  • Team writing – students are given several topics from different subjects. The team must choose three topics, and after a period of preparation and discussion, each member writes a text individually. The goal is to produce clear, persuasive, and original texts.
  • Debates – each team participates in three rounds of debates. Students have time to prepare their arguments together, and then each member delivers a speech. After each round, the teams provide feedback to one another to improve their reasoning and debating style.
  • The Scholar’s Challenge – an individual test featuring multiple-choice questions across various academic disciplines. Participants may select one or more answers for each question, and the strategy they choose affects their final score. The test assesses students’ interdisciplinary knowledge and analytical skills.
  • Scholar’s Bowl Competition – all teams answer the questions at the same time. Students work together to find the correct answer before time runs out, testing their quick thinking, strategy, and teamwork.

The theme of this edition is “Are We There Yet?”. Students who prove they are the best in the Regional Round hosted by Heritage can qualify for the Global Round and the Champions Tournament, held at Yale University. The 2026 Global Rounds will take place in Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Prague, Seoul, Shanghai, Christchurch, Bangkok, and Da Nang.

Events like this give students the opportunity to connect with peers from around the world and the confidence to defend their ideas in an international setting.
